Making "Jeopardy!"

This year I had a particularly good idea for a holiday card. But it turns out that the logistics were daunting and after I did some research I decided to save it for another time. Possibly this means that our 2019 card is well underway; possibly it means that we will have another end-of-year mad dash.

Once I came to the realization that my idea was unworkable, we still needed a card idea. If we wanted to riff off of what's going on in the culture, we would have had to do something related to Trump, #MeToo, or the "athletes taking a knee during the national anthem" controversy. That last one had some appeal but it would have been a fairly provocative message and we couldn't agree as a family to send something like that out. The other stuff is just too depressing for a New Year's greeting

I watched more "Jeopardy!" than usual this year because of Austin Rogers, who provided the most memorable run for the show in quite a while.

I realized that Final Jeopardy is instantly recognizable and offers a canvas upon which text can reasonably be presented. The contestants write stuff in their own handwriting and there are obvious places for numbers to go.
