Making "Hamilton"
When I realized that "HAMILTON" and "HAPPY NEW YEAR" start with "HA", I thought I'd be able to make something work. However, presuming that I could duplicate the silhouette in some interesting way, we'd still be left with a problem. Carol really wants to include a picture of Benjamin and Jeremy in the card, and although we did produce a card once without their picture, she didn't want to go that route again. I wasn't sure what to do, but first things first -- we needed to see if we could make the silhouettes work.
With Benjamin off at college, it's harder than ever to get the two of them into the same room at the same time for a photo shoot. So it wasn't until November 6th this year that I was able to take a bunch of photos of them. Carol dressed them up in clothing that we hoped would hang similarly to the coat worn by Lin-Manuel, and we shot about 75 poses. Here are a few of them. My original idea was that I would have one of them in the classic Hamilton pose and one of them making an exasperated gesture. But I also shot a few of them posing together.
