So the first time that the GPS told me who was calling when my cell phone rang I was floored.) Our GPS is the Garmin nüvi 660, which I simply cannot recommend enough.
The two most relevant hidden features of our Garmin are:
- "Simulation mode" - wherein you have the Garmin simulate a route without you actually driving it.
- "Screen shot" - which allows you to make a screen capture of the screen which you can then upload to your computer.

It's hard to imagine what this feature is for, other than if you are a writer for a gadget magazine and you want to include a picture of the device in your review. I mean, consider the scenario. You're driving along and suddenly you think "man, I'd really dig a copy of what's on my GPS screen right now?" I don't see it. And when you realize that the way you get a screen snapshot is to change an obscure setting so that one of the most useful buttons in the user interface (the one which allows you quick access to the control which lets you make the GPS STOP TALKING OH PLEASE STOP TALKING) is now the "make a screen snapshot" button, the idea that anyone has ever used this feature is mind-boggling.
