Making "Earth"

After scaling all the images to the appropriate sizes, I begin to layer them. At this point several things become clear. Although I was initially annoyed that the beach ball had flattened against Benjamin's head, I am now relieved that this is the case. As I mask out the beach ball to reveal the Earth image, I notice that the bottom of the Earth is white, the same as most of the bottom of the beach ball. Thus, if I leave a tiny portion of the beach ball unmasked, no one will notice the transition from Earth image to beach ball image, and the beach ball resting on Benjamin's head will look realistic because it is realistic. Lucky me! Unfortunately, I also notice two other things. The color of the background star cluster contrasts too much with the color of the Earth. Also, the background is distracting and bright. I fix this by color adjusting the background to a slightly more purple color and also by "desaturating" the background by about 50%, which makes it less obtrusive. All that remains is to print it.
